Mixed Fortunes in busy week for Seniors

Division 2 It was a busy week for our Senior team as they played both Annaduff and St Marys in the league.

First up was the local derby with Annaduff away from home on Wedneday evening last; a cracker of a goal from Ollie Vaughan put the Bors in a good position mid-way through the second half and a 1-6 to 0-7 lead; but it was the home side who finished the stronger and were good value for their 0-12 to 1-7 victory.

On Sunday morning, St Marys were the visitors to Dromod. In the opening minute, Ollie Vaughan again goaled and ensured the Bors would get an early lead that they didn’t subsequently relinquish. Mary’s however played some great football in the opening period and were unfortunate to be five points adrift at the interval. The Bors improved considerably in the second period and aided by an Allan Croghan goal, eventually sealed a comfortable 2-19 to 0-10 victory.

Team on Sunday was Mark Mc Closkey, Jason Conroy, David Mulligan, Brian Duffy, Shane Conroy, Conor Mc Cauley, Damien Mc Guinness, Michael Duignan, Gary Mc Closkey, Danny Farrell, Sean Mc Keon, Allan Croghan, Philip Howard, Ollie Vaughan and Trevor Howard. Subs used included Brian Conroy, Ronan Mulligan, Roy Keenan and Kevin Mulligan.
