Intermediate Championship

Kiltubrid 4-11 Bornacoola 1-8

The Bors suffered their first defeat of the Intermediate championship when falling heavily to a lively Kiltubrid outfit in Ballinamore on Saturday evening last.

Bornacoola started the game well and enjoyed an early two point lead when Sean Mc Keon netted from the penalty spot mid-way through the half. However, Kiltubrid dominated the 2nd quarter of the game, goaling twice – once from the penalty spot – to lead at half time by 2-8 to 1-4.

Again the Bors started the second half positively but two red cards in as many minutes for Allan Croghan and sub Michael Duignan meant the last 20 minutes of the game were played with thirteen men against fifteen and in truth from then on the result was never in doubt.

Kiltubrid rubbed salt in the wound by adding two further goals and ensuring a 4-11 to 1-8 victory. Our final game now takes place on Sunday week against Ballinaglera with qualification for the county quarter final very much on the line.

Team on duty was Danny Farrell, Kevin Mulligan, David Mulligan, Damien Mc Guinness, Brian Duffy, Callan Croghan, Jason Conroy, Anthony Mulligan, Liam Jones, Ollie Vaughan, Conor Mc Cauley (0-1), Cian Mallon, Sean Mc Keaon (1-4), Damian Moran (0-1) and Ronan Mulligan (0-1). Subs used were Michael Duignan (0-1), Mervyn Howard, Robert O Beirne, Gearoid Mulligan and Brian Conroy
