Division 2

Bornacoola 1-14 Aughavas 0-8

Aughavas were the visitors to Dromod on Saturday evening last for an entertaining game in Division 2 of the league. The first half was an open affair and both sides passed up some excellent goal chances. The Bors in particular created three one on ones but failed to convert on each occasion although the power and directness of Ollie Vaughan and Philip Howard was causing plenty of problems for the Aughavas man.

At the other end, keeper Mar Mc Closkey was relieved to see one effort from the visitors crash off the crossbar and a second go just beyoned his right hand post. However, it was the Bors who held the upper hand at half time, leading by 0-7 to 0-4.

The key score of the game was a second half goal finished to the net by sub Brian Conroy which ensured a comfortable finish to the game for the home side as the Bors held out for a 1-14 to 0-8 victory.

Team on duty was Mark mc Closkey, David Mulligan, Conor Mc Cauley, Brian Duffy, Shane Conroy, Jason Conroy, Damian Mc Guinness, Michael Duignan, Gary Mc Closkey, Sean Mc Keon, Damian Moran, Allan Croghan, Philip Howard, Ollie Vaughan and Ronan Mulligan. Sub used was Brian Conroy.
